The Children Desperate to Go Into Care
Members of Holyrood's Education Committee are taking evidence for an ongoing inquiry into how decisions are made about when and whether children should be taken into care. Last week four MSP Education Committee members attended sessions to hear about young people's experiences before, during and after leaving state care. Although some of the 9 young people the MSPs met felt that the availability of more support for their parents beforehand may have prevented them having being placed in care 7 insisted they had been taken into care too late.
